GREAT central location, AFFORDABLE private bedrooms, but you'll have to compromise on parking (only 1 assigned space for the unit + street parking) and no on-site maintenance so you'll have to take care of your place to avoid maintenance issues.

Overall: I am an USD inernational student. Last August I got a room nearby USD campus, but it turns to a terrible experience. The landlady is a total control freak. The house is inhabited with tons of ants. Really freaking. So we have to be super cautious to keep everywhere dry with a drop of water, because she thinks the water brings the ants. I and my roommater are super clean and polite, but she still blame us everyday and required us for unreasonable thing such as keep a wiper at certain area on kitchen table. Tons of rules. Most important thing, she didn't allow us to cook to "ruin" the house by the smoke. And she said we can have dinner in restaurants. And she took our deposit with her own wear and tear. After a month, I asked help from a friend. He introduce me RoomChazer. Christine gave a big support to get me out of the situation, and I moved out the old house just 3 days after we decided to end of this terrible situation. I am so glad I can cook again , and my roommates are nice. Everything in the house are new and I don't worry to use them normally. The location is good. I took about 7 minutes bus to campus. Bus stop & Supermarket in walk distance and neighborhood is safe. RoomChazor clean the house every month and replace the cookingware if they think it is not in good condition. This is really sustainable and friendly to me. A very good experience to live in Linda Vista with RoomChazor and my roommates. I highly recomendate RoomChazor!

Cons: Sometimes the shower water tempature is not hot enough in winter.

Overall: The process of renting and moving-in was seamless! Throughout the whole stay, the Roomchazer team and the host were always available to answer questions and concerns. Managing my rent was also a breeze, everything was at my fingertips right here on the Roomchazer website. Overall, great experience for a great value! About the house and the neighborhood. The house looks freshly renovated. I lived with 2 roommates: each of us had a private room but we had to share a bathroom. There was also a coin laundry in the back of the building. Parking was always easy, plenty of spots along the street. The neighborhood was quiet, at least during the summer. The location was perfect, it’s right in the center of everything.
Pros: I enjoyed quiet and peaceful neighborhood, clean house, and great amenities.
Cons: I think it would be great to have a cleaning team come more frequently, especially if the roommates are undergraduate students, it can get messy really quickly.

Overall: Our Room Chazer host was the greatest part of this whole experience. The house was not the greatest, nor the neighborhood.
Pros: I didn't love it, to be honest. The neighborhood wasn't great, I had pretty inconsiderate roommates. I didn't feel too safe.
Cons: Rachel at was GREAT!! She was the best part of this whole experience. So friendly, helpful, and attentive to all of the problems we had in our place.

Overall: My room was easy to book but the price did change from the initial value.
Pros: The location and distance to my university and work. Also, meeting my roommates.
Cons: Communication and professionalism could've been better. When there was a problem such as mold or skunk there was a lack of urgency, and often blame was placed on residents when these factors were out of our control. While dealing with the skunk issue, the property owner implied we caused the smell or he didn't smell anything. Roomchazer never came out to check themselves so it did feel like the property owner/construction workers' word over ours. I vomited from the smell because it was revolting and nauseating. Regarding mold, we took precautions prior and mold still grew or was already present in the home. Communication between Rachel/Roomchazer and the property owner resulted in different stories and actions. Also, the light in the kitchen went out in January and was not fixed until the end of March. The window in the living room was broken and a construction worker only put a screw in the bottom. We were informed it would be fixed once the rain stopped but it has not been fixed.

Overall: So, my experience with RoomChazer could be better. The housing advisor wasn't very helpful. We had some problems that took a long time to get fixed; after bagging them to fix and sending them many messages (more than three weeks of handling the problem, they did something). The kitchen light was broken for more than two months. And we had mold under the sink. The roommates were the best part of everything.

Overall: The advertisement implies that it's a 2 bed and 4 bathroom but I was never once told that one bathroom will be shared by 3 people. It never hurts to overcommunicate and there was a clear lack of communication.
Pros: It was close to a bus stop so it was easy to access the public transit
Cons: Communication with the housing advisor was really bad. There were issues I had identified in the first few days of moving in that were never addressed. There are a bunch of ants in the place and there are issues with mold in the house.

Overall: Overall, my RoomChazer experience was not the best. It was quite easy to book housing and the initial process was very smooth which was nice. My housing advisor was sometimes helpful before moving in and during my stay but was also unhelpful with housing issues that my roommates and I had. I do not blame her for these difficulties because it seems that the RoomChazer organization itself is unorganized and that there is a lack of communication between people employed by them.
Pros: The thing I liked the most about this place is its location in relation to the rest of San Diego.
Cons: Many things could have been better. Other roommates and I have requested maintenance for broken lights, broken windows, mold in the bathroom and our rooms, skunk smell in the entire house, and for general information regarding our house, and replies and action was taken very slowly and was not reliable.

Cons: Mold was terrible and when I had to throw away clothes and buy a dehumidifier to cover the mold it didn’t help much. Doors in room don’t even close properly. Skunk issue for about a month.

Overall: Great! Everything was easy, and my housing advisor was very responsive and willing to help me work around my unique travel circumstances.
Pros: The neighborhood was lovely, the place was homey. I cared most about access to private space and a well-equipped kitchen, and this place fit those needs quite well.
