Overall: I stayed with Roomchazer and San Diego Student Housing for over year, and I honestly cannot complain and only give praise. When I moved in we already had amenities in place that other apartments wouldn't even have; I almost feel spoiled. The staff was and is always friendly, and they try to do their best by college students, interns, and regular tenants. They looked out for us and guided us, and this particular location is prime. I was within walking distance of everything, I wasn't far from the freeway, the beach was nearby, the weather was never brutal in our spot because of the suite orientation, the provided utilities were great, etc... I think this spot is great and the experience was awesome. Thank you everyone at SDSH and Roomchazer
Pros: I loved that the internet was fast even when supporting up to 4 people, the balcony was great, the apartment came with many appliances, came with silverware, came with cups and glassware, came with cooking equipment, came with cleaning equipment, had a monthly cleaning crew to help, had an attentive landlord, had many lighting fixtures, had beds and desks, had a manageable electricity bill, and never received flack for water at all. The location was good, and even when I didn't pay for a parking spot in the garages I never really had a problem finding parking in the street; it's more disciplinary but it was never an issue. You provided so much stuff in the apartment for me and all of the roommates who stayed here. A lot of them complained about stuff, but I think the only tenants who truly appreciated the sheer spoils of everything the apartment had to offer were myself, Michael, Janaine, Isabella, Nichole, and Alex. Everything here is already here; when you compare it to other apartments this is a steal!
Cons: - I would suggest updating the shower. I stayed in the balcony room for context. The drain is raised about the tiles probably due to water under the floor and prevents draining. The ol' shower water slide is fun and all, but I can tell it will be a problem in the future. This apartment building is old as "f--" - The table that is used in the family room, despite being a neat high-rise, is unfortunately not comfortable to sit at. I would suggest looking into a normal sized table that is more comfortable and lower, and can be used as a workspace and a communal dining area where those living here don't feel like they're is a weirdly close space in between each other; unless if friends move in together here, then tenants won't know each other and might need a bigger space to sit at. This would be a considerable replacement but may work better in the long run. - I am on the fence with the steel and glass tables; they are a little limiting and dangerous, let alone lacking in variability. Something that is lighter, easier to replace with drawers could help. They almost seem like outdoor patio tables. - I think the fridge is fine, but we never got around to replacing the bulb. I can see about replacing it before I move out. The dishwasher is outdated with some of the light indicators not working, but it still works after figuring it out. - I would consider marketing the balcony room as a single room; it's kind of cramped and the bed situation is a little tenderly close compared to the magenta room. - The balcony room doors: The sliding door really doesn't offer privacy as the balcony sliding *glass door is accessed through the balcony room. Of course, everyone in the apartment rightfully has access to the balcony, but it may be at the expense of who ever is living in that room. Maybe put a latch in or replace the door with something else? It would be a tough call. Also, the balcony room's close corrugated door is pretty old, but I don't think it is necessary to get rid of it. - I wouldn't know how, but finding a way maximize the living room space might ease up on any cramped feel of the family room. It is, without a doubt, the largest space but despite all that it feels small. It is more vertical than it is horizontal, and those small port windows up top drive me insane when the sun decides to give everyone the middle finger at 2 pm - 5 pm when it shines through, ha ha. (That last part is just minor) - Some of the kitchen utensils that were originally here before I moved in a pretty out of date. I wonder about providing utensils to college students, interns, and tenants in the first place, but that's not my call. Either way, many of the knives are dulled out; you may need to consider if you even want to keep/sharpen them or get rid of them with or without replacing them. - The television barely got used by anyone. Noah, Noortje, and that Swedish 23 year old, and Isabella were the only ones who used it, but only for small amounts of time. Overall, it's wasted on a lot of tenants since they have computers, laptops, and their own displays. I would just toss it and get rid of the tv stand unless if you think it would be a good idea to keep it; people here are given a lot more stuff than normal and they still complain anyway. So ungrateful, ha ha. - Check to see if the stovetop/underside microwave is venting correctly. I noticed that maybe the vents aren't ventilating fully and just pushing smoke around. We averted this by opening windows and turning the fan on, like a normal person, but there's always gonna be that one person who is gonna complain. As you can tell these are more suggestions from a apartment layout and design approach rather than complaints. My complaints come from things outside of Christine's control like the obnoxious traffic, unsafe drivers, concentration of junkie transients, cranky neighbors and brutal plaza management, and other stuff. I am trying to be as helpful as I can.

Overall: Great location, great apartment complex, and great cleaning service. We did not have any problems but the ones we did have were solved quickly and efficiently.

Cons: The pink wall. And the plumbing in my bathroom sink has been funky since day 1. I felt like eating in the kitchen/ living room was uncomfortable, so I ended up eating in my room most of the time and that was disappointing.

Overall: The apartment is in a great location close to the beach and with countless places to eat. The move-in process was very smooth and overall my stay here was a great experience.

Overall: Everything with booking and moving in was quite easy and all questions were answered fast and good. The complex is nice with pools, jakuzi, tennis court, fitness etc. and the place is really great with several supermarkets, bars and food only a few minutes by foot.

Overall: Chris, our host, was great. She was accessible and helpful. I loved the place overall. I got along fantastic with my roommates, and the location is almost unbeatable. 20 min walk to the beach, good parking situation, and close to grocery stores and others. I also liked the location of our apartment specifically. Highest floor, looking over to the street. Of course, there is road noise, but the advantage is that there is always something to look at when you're chilling on the balcony. The interior is as expected, nice and well kept. The kitchen also has everything you need, even a dishwasher. Also with the amenities like the pool, jacuzzi, BBQ place and gym there is always something to do even on quiet days. All in all, I can whole-heartedly recommend this place.

Overall: This apartment was generally satisfactory, considering the affordability. While the basic amenities were in place, there were notable issues that impacted our overall satisfaction, with the main culprit being the dishwasher. One significant concern was the condition of the kitchen floor, directly attributable to persistent issues with the dishwasher. Unfortunately, the water leak from the dishwasher not only rendered it unusable but also created a consistent and frustrating problem with the kitchen floor. This significantly detracted from our overall comfort and enjoyment of the apartment. Despite these challenges, the host was generally attentive to our concerns. However, the resolution of issues, especially the kitchen floor problem, took longer than expected. The delay in addressing the root cause of the issue added an element of inconvenience to our stay.
Pros: The location, is nice. The Plaza condominium is great. The apartment is ok and a good thing is that there is parking.
Cons: Our experience with the host during our stay was a mixed bag, leaving us with conflicting feelings about the overall service provided. While there were instances where the host demonstrated attentiveness to our concerns, there were equally frustrating moments when communication was lacking. On the positive side, the host was responsive and attentive during some of our inquiries, addressing issues promptly. However, there were other occasions when our attempts to communicate went unanswered, and it took an unreasonably long time to receive a response. This inconsistency in communication created uncertainty and left us feeling somewhat neglected. A major point of contention was the persistent issue with the kitchen floor, directly related to the malfunctioning dishwasher. Despite our efforts to bring this problem to the host's attention, it has regrettably remained unresolved for the past four months.

Overall: I am grateful for the existence of this platform. I really enjoy getting to know new people. I am especially thankful for meeting Minjeong and Cindy, my former roommates. The booking process was very easy and smooth, and moving in was efficient with the lock code and keys on the door. Few areas of improvement: Cleanliness fee: When I moved in, the apartment had not been cleaned prior to my stay. Although I was planning to clean it anyway, I noticed this was a pattern for every new tenant who moved in after me. I am on hold for the cleaning fee waiver on this. Extension of Stay: I experienced a miscommunication with the main Roomchazer email regarding my intention to extend my stay, which led to me having to leave the apartment during the summer. I suggest adding an extension stay option (maybe + deposit too or amendment on the leasing contract) on the dashboard before the payment is due. This would prevent email miscommunications and ensure tenants can seamlessly extend their stays without the risk of losing their housing. Thank you for considering these suggestions to improve the housing experience for everyone.
Pros: The amenities of Plaza are amazing: pool, jaccuzzi, individual sauna, small gym, study room, video room (movies every Thursday),etc... Also the location is very nice, I could manage to do a lot with only a bike (beach, Mission bay), etc. By foot you can easily reach groceries (Vons, Trader Joe's, Sprouts), a very nice park (Kate Sessions), restaurants (Fish Market, Grand Plaza Buffet, etc) and, of course, Garnet Avenue bars and pubs. Public Transportation in the USA is terrible, but at Plaza we are close to lines 30 and 27, which is good. To sum up, it is a great way to be able to live in PB for an affordable price, once we share a room.
Cons: Bed Mattress and Couch Conditions: The bed mattress and couch are very old and need to be replaced. Updating these would greatly enhance the comfort and quality of living in the apartment; Roommate Review System: While this is not a con, I suggest implementing a roommate review system. Allowing tenants to review their roommates would provide housing advisors with more comprehensive information for better matching. My housing advisor has done an excellent job matching bios and profiles, but incorporating reviews could further improve this process. Some tenants seem to choose shared apartments primarily for affordability, even though they may not enjoy living with others, leading to uncomfortable situations. This would ensure that those who prefer solitude can be matched accordingly, and social tenants, like myself, who enjoy getting to know international students, can be matched with similar-minded roommates. This would help create a more comfortable living environment for everyone.

Cons: I had my bike stolen from inside the locked parking garage. Incredibly unlucky, but worth the mention. The area feels super safe at night, especially when comparing to back home. Public transport being across Grand Av for the 30 bus line which was the one I took on my commute to USD, was so frustrating since the traffic lights are super short for cars and people not on the avenue itself.

Overall: My experience with RoomChazer has been great. The team is very responsive and supportive, and they were extremely accommodating. When an issue came up, they always tried to find a solution quickly. I also want to send some love to Carol, who cleaned the apartment once a month. She’s a gem!
Pros: I lived a little over a year in this apartment and loved my stay! First of all, the amenities are great: pool, hot tub, gym, tennis courts, a billiards room and laundry rooms are all on site. The location is great as well! There are so many stores, restaurants, bars and clubs in walking distance. You can reach the beach within 30 minutes by foot or 5 minutes by car. Mission bay is only a 15 min walk away. The apartment itself also has everything one could need (even tennis rackets you can use to compete against your roommates ;)) I also had very lovely roommates during my stay!
Cons: To be honest, the mattresses in this place seem a little old and they are not really comfortable. You can even feel the mattress springs a little when you lay on the bed. The sofa on the other hand is super comfy and soft.

Overall: RoomChazer definitely made housing easier and more flexible for me as a college student. The process felt easy, efficient, and much more straightforward than searching on my own. It saved time, reduced stress, and helped me quickly find a place that fit my needs. Overall, I’m delighted with my stay and the experience.
Pros: What I liked most was the location and the lifestyle it made possible. It’s about 15 minutes to Mission Bay, around 30 minutes to Pacific Beach, close to Garnet Ave and the nightlife, and a quick drive to La Jolla or Downtown. Even with that, the plaza itself is relatively quiet. It also fit perfectly with surf life and running, and I loved that there’s a social scene beyond clubs (like chess/bar life). The amenities were a big plus: a pool and whirlpool area, a pool room, a tennis court, and a fitness room. The apartment itself was comfortable and well-equipped (a lovely couch, a smart TV, a fridge, and even sports equipment like tennis rackets and balls, as well as a basketball). The price felt fair for what you get, neighbors were respectful, and maintenance was solid. Special shoutout to the cleaning lady (Carol/Carroll) who kept everything very clean with monthly deep cleaning.
Cons: The main thing that could have been better was the condition of the mattresses; they felt pretty old and could use an upgrade. Also, there was an issue on the apartment owner’s side (I’m not entirely sure what happened), which resulted in our keys being temporarily deactivated. That was really frustrating and shouldn’t happen to tenants. Other than that, I didn’t have major complaints.
